Security & data protection

Security and privacy are built into every stage of our AI Road Intelligence platform. All captured data is encrypted during transmission and storage, with access restricted to authorised users through secure authentication and role-based permissions.

The platform is designed to support compliance with GDPR and local data protection requirements. Where required, privacy features such as automatic face and vehicle registration plate blurring can be applied before imagery is made available to users.

Our cloud infrastructure is monitored continuously, with regular backups, audit logs, and robust cybersecurity measures to ensure municipal data remains secure, protected, and available whenever it is needed.

Data residency
All survey data, video evidence and user records are stored in the European Union.
Encryption in transit
Traffic between client and server uses TLS 1.3. No service is exposed without encryption.
Encryption at rest
Stored video, GPS tracks and database records are encrypted at rest with AES-256.
Access control
Role-based access for authorised users only. Operator and admin roles are separated.
Authentication
Password-based sign-in with session tokens. Activity is logged against the signed-in user.
Audit logging
Sign-in, data access and administrative actions are recorded with timestamp and user.
Retention
Survey footage and findings are retained for the period agreed with the road authority.
Data protection
RoadIntel processes data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
